Democrats don't like wars Republicans start and vice versa? That's your analysis? So, Hillary Clinton and the rest of the Dems didn't sign-on full bore with Bush's invasion of Iraq? Trump didn't continue Obama's war in Syria? When it comes to foreign policy, there's more bipartisanship than on domestic issues -- and funding for Israel's genocide proves it. The reason Republicans are holding up Ukraine's funding now is because they read the polls: Americans are fed up with Ukraine. It's a winning election issue for Republicans.

Nah, it's Americans hate losers, even underdogs only get support if it's a reasonable chance they will win. The 99% lose battles every day in their lives, they want to be associated with winners. Dump Trump orders Afghanistan withdrawals to take place in February right after he left office so it would fall on Biden's admin; same thing with Syria withdrawal plan. Moron Genocide Joe cancelled both and then had to go ahead with in the Afghan withdrawal in the summer. The worst possible time... cause he had to put his stamp on the failure.

The worst possible outcome for the US would be a negotiated settlement. The war has never been about Ukraine, it has about trying to weaken Russia. Even the US realizes that Ukraine is not going to defeat Russia. But if Ukraine loses, it will result in a decades long, multi-trillion dollar “arms race” which it hopes will eventually grind down Russia (ala the USSR). A settlement, on the other hand, could lead to a generalized easing of tensions and, therefore, less long term pressure on Russia.
