First I wish to thank you for your posts and interviews. You provide valuable information we in the United States don't get. I have a questions about recent events.

I seriously doubt any Abrams tanks will reach Ukraine, as you say, it's a fig-leaf to allow (force?) Germany to permit the sending of Leopards. Scholz remarked that the EU needs to consider its future defense needs and the importance of a unified military. I read this as clearing the way for the EU to buy US made weapons once their existing inventory is wiped out, as it will be, in Ukraine. In other words, forget manufacturing your own weapons, just buy American.

Secondly, about CIA director Burns' Jan. 19th visit to Kiev followed by the purge announced Jan. 23rd: I wonder if this means the US (and maybe the Brits?) are moving in to take more control of the war (tactical) since they realize Ukraine is loosing.

And lastly, we are beginning to hear talk of working towards a truce or end of fighting. Could this be merely to give the US time to produce all those weapons it's promising and then resume the war against Russia, say two years from now? I'd be interested in your thoughts. Thank you.
