A nation that already had a huge demographic problem gets itself into a war (they provoked it, not Putin) and subsequently loses at least half a million men while losing some ground and losing support from is backers and, at an accelrating pace, finally does start to lose ground because the manpower and tools simply are no longer available, all the while refusing to negotiate for peace, and can finally only come up with more massive conscription as the answer to its problems, is ... one damn strange country.

Someone explain these people to me please. Because I can't figure them out.

In WWII, by this stage even the Germans had made several attempts on the life of their Leader.

When I was in high school and we studied the 1st world war in history, about young guys climbing over the top of the trenches - carrying 1/3 of their body weight on their backs - and marching into machine gun fire: then we read the poems of Siegfried Sassoon and Wilfred Owen, I thought those generals and governments must have been mad or evil. That will never happen again I said to myself. And here we are - again - sending kids into the meat grinder. It’s insane.

The stamp photo gimmick seems apropos, payback is a bitch.

1993-04-11 NATO forces began Operation Deny Flight to enforce a no-fly zone over Bosnia and Herzegovina ordered by the United Nations Security which was really just a cover for bombing of civilians.
