On the road and highway people would pass me, honk and give me the thumbs up. I recently traded it for a new truck. On the tailgate is a US flag bumper sticker upside down and peeling off.

Think about it: Hulka must have spent decades fudging his past. In this country I never met or heard of anyone going around proudly proclaiming he fought in the war as a Nazi. They have been here all along, but they keep a low profile.
Suddenly his friends and family decide it is perfectly fine to reveal his past.
