Russia should demand that the American sanctions and the unfreezing of the stolen $300 billion be included in the ceasefire agreement.

Trump is deferential to Netanyahu because Trump and half of his cabinet were compromised by Epstein/Mossad. The Russians never had a pee pee tape on Trump, but Isntreal probably has something much worse.

Ukraine sent a massive wave of attack drones on Russian cities a day ago, very much in the style of a 'vengance strike' (eg vs London in WWII). Rada started process on a hard ban of spoken Russian anywhere in schools. Pretty clear signs that they're not looking for a meaningful peace process.

What I do think Trump admin were looking for from Moscow in exchange for keeping Ukraine cut off from US ISR aid - was cooperation with the US vs Iran, such as Russia pulling the plug on Russia-Iran trade and arms sales (which have been a demonstrably fruitful 2-way exchange now). So that wish of Trump's, is on the whole not going to happen because Trump admin won't be around long enough to deliver a reward big enough for such an expensive betrayal. Leaving aside also that many in the European and Ukrainian power structure would sabotage any peace attempt.

Lavrov et al still hoping, I think, for some kind of respect from the US, and a "serious approach to security frameworks based on mutual recognition of interests". They overestimate the situation in US leadership. Brains fried for a generation, there's no real hope for introspection until a very massive disaster of some kind (eg conflict with China) crashes the US economy hard clears out the old guard... However not clear that Trump admin actually bold enough to take on China for real (and I think Beijing knows it!) ... they'll huff and puff and pivot to Yemen

It is interesting that there is no consideration made as to the actual progress of what Trump and his team have accomplished: they have changed Ukraine's stance from no negotiation to some negotiation.

Yes, the ceasefire offer is a non-starter. But then again, the offer made is not an ultimatum, but rather a proposal.

Then there is the lack of discussion, much less recognition of what Trump may actually want to do. The presumption that Trump wanted to walk away from Ukraine and have the US take an "L" is nothing more than that: a presumption. Why would Trump not try to see if a negotiation could be accomplished? And the first step to a negotiation is to change the Ukrainian stance on "not negotiating".

Well, that has been accomplished.

There are 2 drivers to this equation: On the push side, Russian forces advancing every day. On the pull side, Trump starting and stopping military and intelligence aid to Ukraine.

Maybe Trump is dumb and reactive and beguiled by globalist wankers - but then again, maybe not. There are no "security guarantees" in this proposal to Russia.

There are no "peacekeepers".

Ukraine and Europe are, at best, bystanders in the discussion now.

To me - this points towards a specific plan, but clearly many people have not considered the ramifications of the above and the complete lack of Trump cooperation with the US, EU and Ukraine status quo prior to POTUS 47.

Echoes of appeasement during World War II. I pray that this president does not give away the store. And if he does, I hope Zelenskyy holds firm. More: https://tinyurl.com/43sfdkuc
