My latest discussion of the conflicts in the Middle East & Ukraine, geopolitics, and beyond with Rachel Blevins 05/08/24
Totally agree with Mark that there is little danger of the ME situation becoming a WW3 scenario. And for yet another reason: both Israel and the US have been depleting their militaries. Israel's IDF is, from all reports, exhausted and demoralized after 11 months of fighting. They are in no condition to take on Iran and Hezbollah and the Houthis. They may not be in as bad shape as the Ukrainian military, but they're not at the top of their game. And if Iran is getting weapons from Russia, we can assume that they're better than anything the US can give to the zionists. Most pundits are hoping this fizzles out because they believe a regional war will be a catastrophe. Frankly, if Iran doesn't strike now, and strike hard, Israel will just keep upping the ante. Genocide is a tough act to follow, but the zionists seem to have lots of cards up their sleeves. Someone has to end their reign of terror.
I still like what The Saker wrote before freezing his site: we are in WWIII and it's the Anglo-Zionist Empire (Zone A) vs everyone they do not yet control (Zone B).
The ME is one theatre in the conflict. Ukraine is another. Biden kept talking about red lines yet kept crossing them, whether continuing to send arms for the genocide in Gaza or Abrams/F16s/ATACMs for Zelinsky. If they had more resources they would probably be doing more to harass China. Looks like that will have to wait.
Meanwhile the debt hits $35T and no one even dreams of paying it off. And the Western economies look like crap.
Feels a lot like, I don't know, 1937? Tick tick tick...
